SHARP PROMOTES RICH BOOMSMA TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SALES

MAHWAH, NJ, October 5, 2009 -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, today announced that it has named Rich Boomsma Senior Vice President of Sales. Boomsma’s successful career with Sharp has spanned more than nine years encompassing increasing levels of responsibly for software, Government and Major Account Sales and Dealer Sales.

Boomsma oversees all US sales for the Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. With an annual revenue plan of $800M and 100 direct employees supporting office superstores, 7 distributors, 150 certified channel resellers, and over 500 independent dealers, he is responsible for all distribution channels for Sharp’s document management products, professional display LCD monitors, professional projectors, point of sale products, and calculators.
Prior to joining Sharp, Boomsma was with Xerox Corporation for 28 years.
