Sharp Brings Flexibility and Ease of Use to the Hospitality, Convenience and Retail Industries with the New Sharp RZ-X650 Open Platform System

MAHWAH, NJ, November 2, 2011 -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, unveils its RZ-X650 Open Platform System, a Microsoft Windows® enabled point of sale platform. Designed to work with virtually any Windows based POS software, the point of sale terminal is built for heavy daily usage and to meet various hospitality, convenience and retail needs.

With its 15" (15" Diagonal) touch-screen and seamless integration with a variety of third-party applications, this system is ready right out of the box, and helps provide a higher level of service to customers. The RZ-X650 features an IP-rated water-resistant LCD screen, making it ready for virtually any demanding retail, restaurant or convenience environment. Furthermore, the VESA standard mounting points allow the POS to be installed securely.
RZ-X650 includes an Intel® Atom™ processor N270 (1.6 GHz) and a 15" touch-screen LVDS LCD interface which makes it easy to place orders and navigate within the software. The system’s standard magnetic card reader allows for a variety of payment options, while the integrated cable management system, 1 GB standard memory (expandable to 2 GB) and ample RS-232 serial, USB and parallel ports allow for a variety of peripherals. The system comes with Microsoft Windows® POSReady 2009 (WEPOS) and DriveClone Pro backup and recovery software.
