Presently there are three mainstream standards in HD display technology, 1080p, 1080i and 720p. The number represents the number of horizontal lines, and the “p” refers to progressive technology which displays each frame of video all at once.
A 10-Bit panel is capable of displaying approximately 1.07 billion colors while an 8-Bit panel is capable of displaying about 16 million colors. 10-Bit panels are compatible with deep color when connected via HDMI™. An image viewed on a 10-Bit panel will be more accurate and the transition between colors will be smoother than on an 8-Bit panel.
