Junction Temperature (Tj)

In LEDs Tj is a critical indicator of heat removal from the LED die, which impacts life. When inserted into a specific application, an LED should be kept below its specified maximum junction temperature to maintain the long life of the LED. When an LED is used in a application, its measured junction temperature is used to calculate the LED lifetime and lumen output v. ambient temperature.
