“PG” series conference / classroom 3D Ready projectors
Sharp is very serious about 3D projection – especially for use in education, where research has shown test scores may increase where classroom lessons are presented in 3D.
3D has the ability to change the way students learn by “immersing” them as a part of the on-screen classroom presentation. Sciences, math, geography and art education are just a few subject areas where 3D can help better captivate students.
In addition to education, 3D has applications in corporate and government training, presentations, medical, architecture, engineering, gaming, simulation and even museum and trade show displays.
DLP® Link™ Technology
Sharp 3D Ready projectors incorporate DLP® Link™ technology which has become the 3D standard among many manufacturers – particularly for educational use. These projectors, when used with compatible 3D content, PC/graphics card and optional 3D active shutter glasses, project captivating 3D imagery – from a single projector – that literally appears to come to life.
Optional X102 3D Active Shutter Glasses
Sharp offers, as an optional accessory, XpanD™ brand X102 3D Active Shutter glasses. When purchased from Sharp, these glasses are individually boxed, and include a spare battery, a special tool to change the battery and wipes to keep the glasses clean. These glasses are waterproof, enabling them to be cleaned in a sink or dishwasher.
3D Ready Projectors are Affordably Priced
Sharp 3D Ready projectors are very affordably priced – with very little cost premium. Additionally, as all Sharp 3D Ready projectors are fully compatible with traditional 2D content, even if a school may not have an immediate need for 3D capability, it would be wise for them to future-proof their classrooms by purchasing projectors that are both 2D and 3D Ready.
BrilliantColor™ DLP® Display Technology
All Sharp 3D Ready projectors incorporate the latest BrilliantColor™ DLP® display technology – with a sealed DLP chip and filter free design. This helps ensure superior image quality and reliability – with reduced maintenance and lower total cost of ownership.
Additional Features of Sharp 3D Ready Projectors
All Sharp 3D Ready projectors feature a direct-access “3D” button right on the remote. Unlike some 3D projector brands, users must fumble through menu screens to access the 3D function. Sharp conveniently positions the 3D function directly on the remote control.
Sharp 3D Ready projectors offer built-in closed caption decoders – for improved use by the hearing impaired and in noisy room environments. They also offer integrated high output speakers, which eliminate the need for external audio systems in many settings. The smaller more compact models incorporate a 7 Watt audio system, while the larger units incorporate 10 Watts of audio (5 watts per channel – stereo).
RJ-45 LAN terminals are included on most models for network connectivity, and many models incorporate audio pass through – to enable the projector to be used as an audio switcher – even when the projector is in standby mode.
Wide Range of Options and Accessories
Sharp offers a wide range of optional accessories for use with its projectors. These include ceiling mounting brackets, wall mounting brackets (for short-throw projector models), security cable systems (for use with Sharp ceiling mounting brackets), 3D active shutter glasses, replacement lamps, cables and adapters, and hard-shell tilt-n-go wheeled carrying cases. Information on these accessories is included on the specifications page for each projector, as well as on the product spec sheet.
Sharp projectors additionally offer compatibility with most third party control systems from manufacturers including Crestron®, AMX® and Extron®.
Warranty / Support and Eco Friendly
All Sharp 3D Ready “PG” series Conference / Classroom projectors are supported by a 3-year limited warranty including 24-hour turnaround “ER” Express Repair support, with a 90 day warranty on the user-replaceable lamp. These projectors are both compact and environmentally friendly, with several models utilizing less than 1 watt of power in standby mode.
Include 3D Ready Compatibility on Your List of Projector Feature Requirements
With availability of 3D content for education growing very rapidly, we can expect educators looking to replace and upgrade classroom projectors will consider 3D compatibility to be high on their list of feature requirements. And, with this new Sharp lineup of 3D Ready projectors offering compatibility with traditional 2D content, in most cases a school will be able to “future proof” by upgrading to a Sharp 3D Ready model versus a similar 2D model, at minimal additional cost.
