financial incentives for commercial and government customers
Solar for Commercial
The federal government and most states currently offer incentives to offset the cost of a solar installation. In addition to existing federal incentives such as the 30 percent Investment Tax Credit, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) contains billions of dollars of stimulus funds that may be available for federal cash grants, loan guarantees, funding to state programs and more.
On the state level, incentives are available that reduce the cost of the system, reduce the tax burden of the solar customer and more. For a clearinghouse of all incentives available from the federal government and the states, go to the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE).
Solar on Federal Property
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 (ARRA) appropriates $5.5 billion to be deposited into the Federal Buildings Fund for expenditures to construct, repair and make alterations on federal buildings to increase energy efficiency, including the installation of solar energy equipment. All Sharp modules qualify for the "Buy American" clause of the ARRA.
