manufacturing capacity
prepared to deliver your multi-megawatt project on time
Your large scale solar project requires high-volume capacity that only a globally-recognized leader can deliver.
Thin film has been manufactured at our Katsuragi plant since 2005, and the total capacity is currently 160 megawatts per year. Early in 2010, Sharp inaugurated an additional state-of-the art amorphous thin film factory in Sakai. The new Sakai plant will ultimately be capable of producing a gigawatt of thin film modules annually - embodying the solar commitment that Sharp has demonstrated for decades. Additionally, Sharp and several partners have announced plans for a thin film manufacturing plant to be located in Italy with initial operations scheduled for early 2011.
