What size air conditioner do I need?
The cooling capacity of an air conditioner is measured in British Thermal Units (BTU), and the capacity you require depends mostly on the size of the room you need to cool. If you buy an air conditioner that is to small for the room it will not cool adequately. If you buy one that is too large, the air conditioner will cool the room before it dehumidifies and this can leave you feeling clammy. For larger areas, sometimes two smaller units are more efficient than 1 large unit. You can use the following chart as a rough guide, your Sharp dealer will have additional details.

What does EER mean?
The EER, or Energy-Efficiency Rating, measures the air conditioner's energy consumption and efficiency. A high EER rating means less energy is being consumed.

Is the air conditioner easy to install?
On our models greater than 8,000 BTU/hr. the units are manufactured with a slide out chassis to make installation a breeze. The cabinet is set in place without the chasis in it, and then when it is secured you slide the cooling unit into the cabinet.

What is the warranty on Sharp air conditioners?
Sharp's Limited Warranty is 5 years on the Sealed Cooling System, 1 year on all related parts and 1 year on related labor and in-home service.

How often should I clean the filter?
To ensure maximum cooling capacity and efficiency you should keep the filter clean. During peak usage times the filter should be inspected on a weekly basis to make sure that it is not clogged with dust.

Can my air conditioner be installed into a wall?
Some models of the Sharp room air conditioners can be installed in a wall installation with the optional wall kit model AZ-80WK. Please contact 1-800 Be Sharp for more information.
