MAHWAH, NJ, October 22, 2007 -- Sharp introduces a new document communication system product that moves beyond the traditional business fax machine, allowing businesses to securely communicate documents to a variety of destinations. The versatile
FO-IS125N Fax-based MFP uses Sharp's Image SENDER technology to scan documents to e-mail, FTP server or network folder, without being connected to a PC. Combining a laser fax, network scanner, network printer and digital copier into a table-top size unit, the
FO-IS125N creates a stand-alone, cost-effective communications tool for small-to-mid-size business and transactional industries including healthcare, insurance, financial services and real estate.
The FO-IS125N simplifies tasks and increases productivity with Image SENDER, which offers four convenient distribution features - send to e-mail, send to network folders, send to FTP server and send to fax, streamlining paper-based workflow.
"The new FO-IS125N is a cost-effective solution for professionals who need responsive, on-demand flexibility with the ability to share information quick and easily," said Gary Bailer, Associate Director, Product Management, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “This innovative product allows businesses and office professionals to save time and money with reduced telephone, postage and courier costs and offers security features to ensure that communications are protected, ideal for financial, insurance and healthcare companies.”
Convenient and Easy to Use
Built for convenience, the FO-IS125N has a simple setup with a full-function QWERTY keyboard, which allows for quick and easy e-mail addressing. Sophisticated distribution features have been simplified so documents can be sent with the push of a few buttons. Administrative functions can be managed easily through the user-friendly Web page right from the desktop. The intuitive interface allows for user preference settings, network configurations and destination management.
Enhanced Security
The FO-IS125N provides a flexible solution for small-to-mid-sized businesses that require sophisticated security features. Offering several built-in features, the Fax-based MFP can help keep transactions compliant with governmental regulations and corporate processes. An Authorized Transmission Function automates the approval process and document delivery of faxes and
e-mails, holding the fax or e-mail in the unit’s secure memory until the transmission is approved or rejected. The approval is conducted through an e-mail sent from the unit to the approver before transmission, protecting companies from unauthorized document distribution.
With Secure Fax Release, the FO-IS125N minimizes the risk of faxed documents being printed and removed from the paper tray by providing a PIN code authorization that is required to release the fax from memory when it’s safe to do so. Additionally, User Authentication restricts the use of the FO-IS125N and selected functions to authorized users only. The unit also offers Inbound Fax Routing so electronic copies can be maintained for secure document archival.
Robust Fax Features
The FO-IS125N offers two-sided send, which lets users fax two-sided documents easily, as well as basic copier functions such as sorting and zoom. The unit also includes a 600-page memory and a three-second-per-page transmission time. High-speed, 600 dpi laser printing ensures legible transmissions and the unit includes a 30-sheet document feeder so larger documents are processed with ease.
Price and Availability
The Sharp FO-IS125N will be available this month for a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $599.99.
