MAHWAH, NJ, April 5, 2008 -- Combining a unique mounting solution from Peerless Mounts with Sharp’s AQUOS Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TVs, the New York Islanders hockey team, recently upgraded the video system throughout their home arena, the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. In an effort to enhance the guest viewing experience in the promenade and suite boxes, as well as around the concession stands, the Islanders have installed 258 AQUOS LCD TVs, ranging in size from 15- up through 65-inches. A versatile custom mount designed by Peerless Industries for the 15-inch AQUOS models gives guests the ultimate viewing range.

“The challenge at Nassau Coliseum was to provide a tailored mounting solution for ideal screen placement throughout the arena’s unique layout,” said Rich Fiorino, director of business development, Peerless Mounts. “There were many different areas where the screens were being installed - walls, ceilings - on various surfaces in different size and shape guest boxes - so it had to be a flexible solution that could be applied almost anywhere.”

The main custom mounting solution was designed around the LC-15SH7U 15-inch AQUOS, with 126 models placed in various locations, including the promenade and suite box seats. Designed to enhance the NY Islander guest viewing experience from different seating positions for real-time and instant replay hockey action, the mount provided the flexibility of changing the viewing angle, giving the patron the best seat in the house from almost anywhere in the guest box. The varying viewing angles are a 15 degree downward tilt and a 5 degree upward tilt, and the mount itself can be set in two positions, 50 or 90 degrees, assisting the ideal delivery of the event. Designed with time saving installation features, it is fast and easy to install, and includes security for the screen when engaged, while enabling quick screen removal when disengaged. When the screens are removed, the mount’s ultra-flat design makes it easy to store. This unique design is ideal for quick and easy reinstallation of the screens, as the Coliseum needs to install and de-install the sets after various events.

Additionally, the mount has a unique security feature utilizing Peerless’ patented screws to offer security and is UL listed to hold 400 percent of its stated load capacity to ensure guest safety.

The Sharp AQUOS LCD TVs are ideal for stadium settings, with wide 176 degree viewing angles and fast pixel response time for fast moving images like an exciting hockey play.
