MAHWAH, NJ, March 27, 2008 -- To answer the increasing need for fast and efficient information display management, Sharp introduces the Digital Signage Software Package comprising the PN-SS01 digital signage software and optional PN-SV01 viewer software. The PN-SS01 software enables content to be programmed, delivered and displayed while the complementary PN-SV01 viewer software automatically accepts programming from the PN-SS01 on a USB flash drive for remote playback on additional PCs and the Sharp “PN” series of Professional LCD monitors.

The PN-SS01 software programs digital posters, billboards, full-motion video information, animation and real-time news and weather reports. It is compatible with many multimedia sources including movies, flash animations, audio and still images. The PN-SS01 software enables content to be displayed on a single screen; PN-SV01 optional viewer software expands the capability by displaying different content at different times and to different audiences. Additionally, the software permits multiple frames to be displayed on one screen.

The software package provides a complete digital signage workflow including program creation, registration, scheduling and distribution. The software operates easily and is intuitive with a user-friendly interface. With the click of a mouse, it’s possible to program a distribution schedule and plan content updates in advance. The package comes complete with up to four adjustable layout frames and up to two adjustable message tickers that can be displayed either horizontally or vertically.

This Digital Signage Software Package joins Sharp’s successful line of industrial “PN” Series information display LCD monitors: the PN-G655U and PN-G655RU 65-inch screen size class for landscape and portrait mode applications respectively; the 52-inch screen size class PN-525U and 46-inch screen size class PN-465U designed for a variety of professional applications in both landscape and portrait mode; and the PN-G655UP, PN-G655RUP, PN-525UP and PN-465UP that feature an integrated protective acrylic overlay for high traffic areas.
