CHICAGO, IL, April 11, 2008 -- Sharp is expanding its line of stylish and space-saving Insight Pro® cooking appliances with the introduction of the new Insight Pro® Warming Drawer, model KB-6100N. Styled to complement the Insight Pro line, the 30-inch Warming Drawer can be installed beneath a Sharp Microwave Drawer® oven, wall oven or cooktop for a sophisticated and cohesive design statement that is perfect for islands, open-plan kitchens, wet bars and home theaters.
“The Microwave Drawer oven offers kitchen designers a unique placement option for the microwave that saves valuable counter space while providing outstanding accessibility and high-style design,” said Christine Lewis, associate vice president of appliance marketing, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “Homeowners can now expand their cooking center by pairing the companion Warming Drawer with a Microwave Drawer oven, an ideal cooking combination for entertaining, preparing a meal or heating up leftovers.”
With the Insight Pro Warming Drawer, foods can be kept at the desired temperature to accommodate the busy schedules of today’s consumers, to make sure dinner is still fresh for a late arrival or to free up the oven for cooking other foods. The Warming Drawer has a multitude of uses in the kitchen, including warming crisp or moist foods, keeping multiple foods warm, warming serveware and plates, proofing bread dough and crisping stale items.
Concealed Auto-Touch controls, located just inside the Warming Drawer, are precise, simple to clean and easy to use, enabling users to turn the power on or off, change the temperature or set the timer. Users have the choice of a pre-set timer for 30 minutes or one-hour increments (up to four hours) or a “Continuous On” setting that programs the Warming Drawer to remain on indefinitely. The Warming Drawer offers six precise temperature settings that range from 90 to 230 degrees Fahrenheit so that users can select the optimal temperature for the foods being served, while a variable humidity control keeps foods moist or crisp, depending on the food.
The 1.9-cubic-foot-capacity stainless steel interior is the largest size available in the industry, and offers ample space to accommodate oversized plates and serving dishes. Ball-bearing glides allow the drawer to extend fully, giving users maximum convenience and accessibility when placing and removing dishes and serveware. A stainless steel half-rack is included to make additional room inside the drawer.
The Warming Drawer is offered in a choice of white, black or stainless steel finishes. It will be available in Fall 2008 for an MSRP of $999.99.
