Range: Anti-Tip Bracket

All Sharp Insight^® and Insight-Pro^® slide-in and free-standing ranges come furnished with an anti-tip bracket as well as installation instructions. When it is properly installed, the anti-tip bracket reduces the risk of tipping of the appliance when excessive stress or weight is applied to an open oven drawer or door.

In fact, both the range operation manual and the installation instructions included with our product require that the anti-tip bracket be installed in order to ensure the safe operation of the appliance.

How to safely determine if the anti-tip bracket is installed correctly:

• Remove all items from the inside and the top of the range.
• Make sure the oven, the range top and the microwave oven drawer are cool prior to placing hands on the appliance.
• Carefully slide out the range from the wall approximately 3 inches
• Look behind the range from both sides to see if there is a metal bracket (a forked shaped device) attached to the floor or wall.
• If you can see the bracket, your anti-tip device is installed. When you push the range back, one of the rear legs will engage with the bracket.
